Popular culture, in the form of installments from The Simpsons, provides an insight to an extended exploration of global and local issues that are commonly used as themes in many episodes. Whether it is South Park, the Simpsons, or Boondocks, cartoons have a way of invoking emotions and moments of realization through humour. This pairing of popular culture with societal dilemmas and current events allow for an opportunity of in-depth analysis. What does the humour tell us? What do these wacky Simpsons episodes have in common with the ordinary being? What have the Simpsons predicted so far? Join KPIRG while we lead these engaging and meaningful discussions, after watching a full Simpsons episode, of course!
